It’s about expecting and postpartum moms taking charge of their bodies and their decisions, and supporting one another’s journeys—together and apart.

We challenge the status quo and ask the questions no one else asks. We read, research, experiment & consolidate all the common sense, time-honoured wisdom & recent studies we can find and present that information to you through various education models. Our job is to unconditionally support YOU—the birth mom & birth partner—to make the best decision for you and Baby.

Childbirth is perhaps the most physical, mental & spiritual experience of a woman’s life. We want you to be ready in body, mind & spirit for the experience of birth and the lifelong journey that follows.

We are a team of practitioners, educators, chiropractors, coaches, nutritionists, fellow mamas, men & women who are involved in our local communities and we are all rooting for YOU.

Everything that we do within BIRTHFIT is founded on these four pillars:

To functionally train throughout the Motherhood Transition in all planes of motion to develop competencies and physical skills as well as enhance the main metabolic pathways.

To cultivate a relationship with food that is rich in colour and nutrients from a wide variety of animals, fish, plants, fruits, fats, and starchy tubers, while nourishing the body through the different rhythms of life and the female cycle

To create space between a stimulus and a response, to embrace a growth perspective, and create action around values in order to make decisions from a place of love rather than fear.

To open pathways from the cellular to the metaphysical level wherein a human can experience and express optimal health in mind, body, and soul.

All classes will be run by BIRTHFIT Leader, Dr Sarah Green.

Dr. Sarah, is the co-owner of Elmira Family Chiropractic, a practice which strives to help families connect to the best version of their self through neurologically based care.  She works alongside her husband, Dr. Thom Green, on a big mission to change the trajectory of health in her community by empowering families with strategies to live an awesome life. They believe in putting the needs of children and moms first to develop a brighter future for generations to come. This is why they have completed advanced post-doctoral training in both pregnancy and pediatrics and why they run the largest practice of its kind in the area.

After the birth of her first child, Dr Sarah saw first hand what challenges the women in her community face during the motherhood transition. At the same time, she found BIRTHFIT, which radically changed how she looked at prenatal and postpartum care. Her work with BIRTHFIT was personally empowering and she knew it was time to bring this movement to as many families as possible in Ontario.

When she isn’t in the office or with her two children Lyla & Dillon, Dr. Sarah loves to read, advance her knowledge at seminars, lift heavy weights, eat awesome local food or spend time laughing with friends and family.
